The Facebook CRM - Part One

Why do we neglect or treat poorly those that know, like and trust us the most? This is the result of being taught everything about selling ACCEPT, how to leverage the relationships you already have!

Facebook: A place to collect your friends, family, acquaintances, colleagues and “soon to be” friends.

A CRM: A platform designed to keep you in front of your leads and clients.

The definitions above reveal a huge issue in our business. Our people are on Facebook, but we don’t know how to handle them. We also have this great CRM, but it’s not designed for our sphere.

This problem, is why I created the thought process of seeing your personal Facebook page as a CRM. It’s a place where plenty of business exists for you, if you just knew how to navigate those waters.

The Issue: Our people don’t need what we sell all the time.

This is where I teach you the 1/20 principal.

If you’re not careful, you will wake up every day with tunnel vision on just trying to make money today. And don’t get me wrong, money today is awesome, we need money today. But we also need to be creating long lasting, established relationships that are going to be benefit us in the long run as well.

So, let’s say we meet 20 people over a couple weeks. You and I are typically going to focus on the one person who is in need of what we sell. While doing so, we have shunned and disregarded the 19 others that weren’t ready.

Why?!

Because we assume they don’t have anything to offer right now. So we do this cycle day in and day out. We run through people every single day, just looking for “the one” that can help us today. It must stop!

The Solution: Staying “top of mind” with everyone you meet/know through Facebook.

If 19/20 people you met this week don’t need what you have...that’s ok! That’s actually normal. But don’t throw them by the wayside, get them on your personal Facebook page and create massive value and/or stay top of mind.

I can’t tell you how many Facebook friends I’ve sold to that started off as strangers. I have put so much purposeful consistently to my personal Facebook page that I will friend new people and then just start “dripping.” Over time, they will see things they like, pay attention, and then be ready to roll with me when their buying decision approaches.

Here’s the key...

#1 - Add more friends! You get 5000 friends on your personal Facebook page. Fill that sucker up (safely of course).

Unless you are literally brand new to your city, all of you should be able to get to 2000-3000 friends on your personal page. If you will stop seeing Facebook as just a personal way to connect with actual friends. Open it up. Find old school mates, people you’ve worked with, or extended family. The more you have to choose from, the better the numbers will work in your favor.

#2 - Commit to the 80/20 Rule.

Focus 80% (even 90%) on your personal page and the other 20% on your business page.

This gets tricky to many of us, because we are stuck in the old school way of going business. We want to keep business, business. And we want to keep personal, personsal. Nope. Can’t do it. Won’t do it. Begin to blend and watch what happens.

And remember this, our business pages are typically going to be viewed by strangers, so we don’t need to post daily, once a week would be plenty for most people. Here’s what is important, that your last post wasn’t “Merry Christmas” but it’s now summer time. Just keep it relevant.

#3 - View your personal stories as a way to sell your product.

The world has been changed forever because of social media. It basically provides us with basic information of any person whenever we want.

So 10 years ago, you could sell stuff and no one cared about your family. Now everyone does!

”People buy who you are before they buy what you sell.”

You are your greatest asset! Your stories will connect with more people than you ever thought possible.

And if this seems foreign to you, that’s ok! It is, to a lot of people. But this, and this alone, will drastically change the present and future of your business!

Over the coming weeks we will unpack this thing and lay it all out. Also, be watching for the creation of my brand new Facebook group that is going to be a game-changer for anyone trying to grow their business and wants to leverage social media.

If you like this, please engage. Like, comment, share. It would mean the world to me! :)
