Trackers amaze me! The way someone can identify vague footprints in a muddy, forested area is crazy. I love shows and movies where this happens. That person is the most important part to the puzzle, because without them, the end result is impossible to have happen.
Well, our businesses are no different...except we are the person potentially lost in the woods.
And people are trying to find us, but they can’t! Because our digital footprint is horrendous!
Most Realtors have heard the term SEO...short for search engine optimization. We technically know what it is, but if we are being honest...we don’t really understand it.
Let me break it down this way...it determines whether you are hard to find or easy to find on the internet. Plain and simple.
There are 4 big data providers and then dozens and dozens of sites where our information finds its way to...but here’s the catch...for most of us, if we haven’t been intentional, they are all over the place...
One has an old email, while another has the old office address, then another has your cell phone, but it’s supposed to have a business number. Nothing matches. And here in lies the problem.
When this takes place, we become the crazy “ex-girlfriend” that is super sweet and good looking one minute, then stalker/murderer crazy the next.
This causes Google to check their breaks. They see the lack of consistency and then you become less and less likely to be found anywhere close to the first page of Google. Because they have to protect their investment and they can’t go putting businesses out there that may or may not even be real.
