This ONE THING is keeping social media from working for you.
The other day, I was listening to a Gary V. Video, and Gary said, "Content is the price of entry to relevance." Let me say it again. Content is the price of entry to relevance. here's what we're facing right now. We are fighting. And by we I'm really talking about you as the Realtor, as the loan officer, as the business owner. And you are fighting for relevance. There are thousands, and thousands, and thousands, and thousands of people that do exactly what you do.

You are all in a competition, whether you like it or not, and you're not competing to be the best Realtor. You're not competing to be the best loan officer. You are competing to be the most relevant Realtor, the most relevant loan officer. That is what this competition is all about.
So, some of you are out there spinning your wheels because you are trying to perfect your craft when you just need your craft to be known. This is not the '90s. In the '90s, if you were the best, you would be successful, but that is no longer the case. If you are not relevant, you will not be successful. It doesn't matter how talented you are, how gifted you are, how great you are at your job. Relevance is the key.
What is the one thing that you are doing wrong when it comes to social media?
You are not producing content.
You are not putting yourself out there to be seen, and found, and believed, and trusted in by the people you want to buy and sell with. That's it. That is the key. You can keep going to more and more classes, you can keep buying more and more courses, but this is where the rubber meets the road.
It blows my mind how often I just watch people that literally get on social media and they literally go like this, "Hey, guys. I'm really awesome. I just want you to know I'm really good at what I do and I can help you." No one gives a crap. Nobody cares. We've got to prove it. We've got to prove our value.
You have to decide, what does content look like for you? How are you going to push it out there? If you're unwilling to do video, you better do something else at an incredibly high level, because you have to be present. You have to be.
That's why I'm super excited about this class (book me here), How to Find Your Next Client on Social Media, because we are taking a deep dive into attraction marketing. And I love it. I love attraction marketing where once we create some identifiers and start creating. We know who we're going after. We've then asked the right questions to know what their hopes are. Then, we produce content to fill the needs that they have in their lives and business. And now, they're showing up on our front doorstep begging us to work with them as opposed to us having to go out there and beg for their business. It's beautiful.
Be willing to commit to this. And here's how you do it: Get out of your own way. Get out of your own way. Get out of your own way. Some of you, you've been to several classes, and you may even think that at times I'm a broken record because most people don't get it. You don't get it. You got to get out of your head. You got to realize how gifted you are. You got to realize how set apart you are. You've got to realize how unique you are. And you've got to live in that uniqueness out loud.
Then, you've got to DO IT AFRAID. You've got to do it afraid. Guys, when I do videos, when I write blogs, when I put myself out there, guess what? It is scary. It's scary. And I think so many people look at people that are putting out content and go, "Man, if I could just be like them." Guess what? The only thing keeping you from being like them is being like them. That's it. The only difference between me and you is I put out content and you don't. It doesn't make it great content. It's content, and content is the price of entry to relevant. You can't be relevant without content. And you can’t create good content without producing crappy content. Do it afraid!
