I Heart People

Today I started coaching with two new clients.

I’m so excited to be back coaching again.

After going through my John Maxwell Certification, I feel like a brand new coach…it’s crazy!

Instead of simply trying to teach…I’m doing more listening…I’m asking more questions…it was great!

As I left my office tonight…I was overwhelmed with joy.

I love people.

My calling in life has been very simple…

My goal is to leave people better than I find them.

Getting to talk with my coaching clients today was thrilling!

Even listening to them challenge my idea…it was amazing!

Getting to debate and share…I loved it!

Here is my secret…are you ready?

I treat everyone as if they are better than me.

Philippians 2:3 says, “Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.”

This has been one of my life verses since I was in middle school.

As I get older, that verse provides more and more clarity in my life.

I don’t get frustrated in traffic like most people…

Do you know how?

I assume that when I get cut off or tailgated, that person just needs to get some where faster than I do.

I don’t get mad very often…

Because when someone does something that could upset me…my first thought is, “I wonder what’s going on it their life that would trigger this reaction?”

Most people walk around hiding so much.

We are all incredible actors.

We know how to put on a smile, ask questions, and pretend that everything is ok.

But the reality is, we aren’t. We are struggling.

And as bad as I think my day is, someone else’s is always worse.

Ask yourself a question…

Do you care more about yourself or everyone else?

That answer dictates your future moving forward from today.

The next time you get frustrated or upset with someone…just remember, you have no idea what they’ve been through to get to today.

No matter how they treat you…love them any way.
