Waiting...

The waiting game is the worst...

Traffic, the doctor's office, the school pick up line, etc. Often times, it feels as if it will never be my turn.

But here's what I've learned in waiting.

#1 - Our greatest growth happens in waiting!

Perseverance is one of the greatest skills to possess! But it's not grown in quick success or a free ride to the top. Look at any successful person and they can share story after story of shortcomings, but they always lead to an increase in perseverance.

#2 - You can handle it!

One of my favorite TV shows is The Biggest Loser. I love watching the underdog that thinks they are finished but ends up realizing that they were capable of far more than they ever gave themselves credit for. And though your situation may not be a TV show, it doesn't mean that you're not capable of the same thing as they are. The way we are wired, the way we have been designed, is to fight, is to accomplish the impossible! You and I were put on this earth to make a difference! And in my opinion and experience, when we begin to make a difference Satan will come after us at every available opportunity. But if you believe what I believe, we've already won. And it makes a huge difference when you know that you're fighting from victory and not for it.

#3 - It's worth it!

I'm reading a book called "Chase the Lion" by Mark Batterson. In this book, he tells the story of a man in scripture that chases a lion into a pit on a snowy day and came out victorious. Against impossible odds and probably against the advice of his friends he did it anyway and now he's remembered in history for it. Pastor Mark also talks a lot about our dreams, and what's interesting, is how he defines dreams as being interwoven with everyone in our lives. That there really is no such thing as a stand-alone dream because for most of us it's going to require other people in order for them to happen. So here's what I want you to think about this morning... no matter how big or small, your story is going to make a life-altering impact in the future of someone else. Whether you go on to write a book, break sales records, or your the stay at home mom that raised two incredible kids. Your story is worth it!

So go out today, embrace the waiting, knowing that you will make a difference in the people's lives around you!
