What I Learned In Wisconsin!

I spent just over three days in Wisconsin and it was awesome! I got to meet new friends, put on my first ever event and check off something from my bucket list. Over those three days I learned a lot…

#1 - Yes, putting on your own event is as scary as it sounds!

This event was bitter/sweet. It was bitter because my anxiety was through the roof. I was putting on my first event that I was in charge of. It was in a place I’d never been before. And I wasn’t even sure if people would like it. I mean, I hoped they would, but you never know until it happens!

It started with me arriving in Milwaukee at 10am, getting my rental car (which matched my shirt) and then having 2 1/2 hours to drive 90 miles to where the event was happening. I was stressed out to say the least. It was way more scary than just showing up to speak somewhere.

#2 - Technology is AWESOME!

Here’s what is so cool! Mike and I met through a coaching program about a year ago…but here’s the catch, we met online and through video conferencing, Marco Polo, phone calls and text messaging.

Mike helped make this event happen. Actually, he didn’t help, he made it happen. And we met in person for the first time about 90 minutes before the event started.

Isn’t technology cool?! I love it! He had become a trusted friend far before we ever met in “real life.”

#3 - I really like nature…when it’s not hot or cold outside! :)

While I was there, Mike took me to the highest point near where they lived…then at that point, there’s about a 60 foot tower you can climb and see an amazing view.

Well, I climbed all the way up, the pics are below…Mike, he didn’t. He’s afraid of heights. I’m working on helping him over come his wimpyness. Ha.

It was amazing. And I decided that if the temperatures are between 70 degrees and 45 degrees, I actually like being outside. But above or below that and I’M OUT!

#4 - People are loving Top of Mind Selling!

Now, for the 2nd time in the last four weeks, I was able to teach Top of Mind Selling in Maine and then in Wisconsin. And both times, everyone loved it! As I asked them about it, these were the words that I kept hearing….FRESH PERSPECTIVE, SIMPLISTIC, PRACTICAL, DOABLE, FUNNY, INSPIRING, and ENCOURAGING.

Are you kidding me?! How can words get any better? Each time I teach I get more encouraged and excited for who’s going to get to hear it next.

And you know what I think is the coolest? What I’ve successfully done (really, it’s what God has done), is wrap hope, inspiration and love into a marketing/social media event. The brilliant part of God orchestrating this is that when people do what I teach them to do, not only does their business grow, but three other things happen!

One - They become more encouraging to others.

Two - Which in turn, makes them feel better about themselves.

Three - Finally, our world is improving. As each person starts leveraging Top of Mind Selling, we improve the world around us!

#5 - Lambeau Field!

For those of you that know me well, you know that I am a die-hard sports fan. All sports. If competition is happening, I want a piece of it!

So, I have wanted to go to Lambeau Field since I was a little kid! It’s legendary! And it didn’t disappoint.

I have never experienced anything like it! From the people, to the tailgating, the houses with party decks, the brats, the stadium, the legacy, it was the coolest sports experience of my life and I’ll never forget it!

All in all, Wisconsin was a HUGE success. And I can’t wait to do it again!

Mike and Tasha, thank you for your hospitality. And Veronica, thank for taking it easy on me when we “played” volleyball in the backyard!

Love you all, thanks for reading!
