What's Your Assignment?
Every day people move on from this life to the next...and with it, their unfulfilled and unknown dreams and aspirations.
Why do we live in a world where we see so much potential, so much promise, so much influence, go to waste?
People will spend their entire lives trying to figure out who they are and why are they here.
I don't know about you, but I'm tired of seeing unfinished dreams die. I'm tired of watching people aimlessly walk through life and never discover their purpose.
The question is this...
What's your assignment?
In my opinion, we've all been given an assignment to accomplish while we are here on this earth. For a few, yours might be to be the President of the United States one day. For others, your assignment is to meet people where they are and love on them unapologetically. For you, it may be to make a lot of money and do great things with it. And then for someone else, it will be to lead a movement in a third world country to provide homes and restoration to dying communities.
Here's what's cool...no matter the assignment, the importance is the same. The human race is an ecosystem just like any rain forest or desert. Every person plays a vital part. And when people begin to not do their part, it affects the whole system.
To help this make sense, let me explain my assignment. And it starts in the second book of the Bible, Exodus.
"As long as Moses held up the staff in his hand, the Israelites had the advantage. But whenever he dropped his hand, the Amalekites gained the advantage. Moses' arms soon became so tired he could no longer hold them up. So Aaron and Hur found a stone for him to sit on. Then they stood on each side of Moses, holding up his hands. So his hands held steady until sunset. As a result, Joshua overwhelmed the army of Amalek in battle." - Exodus 17:11-13
My assignment...I'm an Aaron. I want to hold up the arms of as many Moses' as I can find. Because for years I wanted and chased being Moses. I wanted to be "the guy." And it led to failure, frustration, arrogance, and a lot of insecurity.
But here's what I've learned...God has gifted certain men and women with supernatural influence. But many of them don't use it for good. I want to change that.
I come alongside these people and encourage them, inspire them, push them, and help them reach the masses with their amazing message!
I have never felt more alive since I finally found clarity in my assignment.
In Psalm the Bible says...
"Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him." - Psalm 34:8
Can I be bold for a moment? You CANNOT identify your true assignment until you've seen Psalm 34:8 happen in your life. I didn't say you can't be successful. I didn't say you can't have a great family. I didn't say you can't have nice things. But even in all those things, you can miss your assignment if you are not yielded to the One who made you.
What does this look like for you? Do you need or lack clarity? As simple as it sounds, it starts with prayer. Ask God to reveal this to you. He will. Then, look back. What patterns do you notice? What can you look back at now and see where God was setting you up for something greater all along?
The moment you find your assignment, the people and the world around you will never be the same.
