Maybe Your Power Is Out?

Early today I launched a video series with my dad. It’s mainly me interviewing him because he is so brilliant and has so much to offer everyone around hime!

In our first episode (see video here), he told the story of the vacuum.

He talked about how he is an instant gratification type guy. He likes doing things that he can quickly see results from…so, he likes to vacuum.

Well, one day he was vacuum’ing the house and he has his cassette player (yes, he’s pretty old) on listening to “Earth, Wind, & Fire.”

He is just going to town on the vacuum. All of a sudden, he feels a tap on his shoulder. He turns around and my mom is looking at him with a perplexed look on her face…

She says, “What are you doing?” He says, “I’m vacuum’ing.” And she says, “No you’re not, you’re not even plugged in.”

My dad was so invested in EWF that he hadn’t even realized that the vacuum no longer had power and he was going through the motions, but with no results.

Are you going through the motions without any power?

For me and my family…the power we speak of is JESUS.

You see, I believe that we live in a world with a desire to have a bigger purpose than ourselves. I believe that inside of all of us is that longing for a relationship with our Creator.

I believe that Creator is God. And I believe that God sent his Son, Jesus, to live a sinless life and pay the ultimate sacrifice for you and for me.

When I give Him control of my life, my power is endless. I’m capable of things that I could never do on my own.

As you read this, what are you thinking? Have you realized that you lack the power source? Does your power come from somewhere else?

I challenge you to consider a power source outside of yourself. Quit putting so much pressure on yourself every single day.

Live for something greater! It’s cool to make money and win awards…but it’s a different level to make an eternal impact on a person, family or situation.
