Don't Wait Until You Like It...

If you wait until you like it…you’ll never start!

This is myth #3 that you believe to be true about video.

Guess what? If you were going to “like it,” you would have already!

It’s not going to happen.

I recently started a mastermind group with Realtors and Loan Officers and we are going through a great book by John Maxwell called “The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth.”

One law is called “The Law of Intentionality” and it talks about the gaps we experience in our lives that keep us from growing.

One of the gaps is called “The Inspiration Gap.”

This gap eats my lunch sometimes. Because this gap says that you don’t start something or do something because you don’t feel like it!

This is most people’s problem with video. You’re waiting to FEEL it…and you’re not going to!

Why not? Because it’s uncomfortable, it’s awkward, there’s uncertainty there.

In what world to people run towards discomfort, awkwardness and uncertainty…haha. Exactly, they don’t! Which means you won’t.

It’s time to put up a fight.

It’s time to realize that you have achieved all you can in your comfort zone. So, unless you’re completely satisfied with where you are, the only room you have left to grow is OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE.

So, the faster you get uncomfortable, the faster you grow.

And remember this…John Maxwell says…

“It’s not about how long will it take to get there, but how far can I go.”

That is so powerful! Quit trying to arrive somewhere. Get down in the dirt and see how far you can go!

Here’s a quick tip for your first video (because you’re going to do this!)…

What are you most passionate about? Talk about that first.

It will naturally be the easiest video for you to do. You don’t have to over think it, just start talking.
